Shia Ulema Council, Imamia Students Organisation, Asgharia and Jafaria students organisations on Friday observed the Yum-ul-Quds and burnt the American flag and they vehemently condemned the Israeli occupation of Palestine. More than 200 Shia activists staged a protest demonstration at ChowkGhanta Ghar and shouted anti-zionists and anti-US slogans.
They expressed solidarity with the Palestinians. The demo was led by Basharat Naqvi. Addressing the demonstrators Shia leaders said they were holding rallies and demonstration across the country to highlight the issue of Palestine. "The pioneer of Islamic revolution in Iran Imam Khumeini had declared that last Friday of Ramazan be observed as Youm-ul-Qudus to express solidarity with Palestinian people in their struggle against Israeli subjugation.
