Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, has reiterated his resolve to clear Karachi from extortionist mafia and bring complete peace in the financial hub of Pakistan. Law enforcement agencies have arrested 42 target killers in Karachi who are involved in killing of over 450 persons, Malik said while talking to media outside the Parliament House on Thursday.
Malik said that the detained target killers and terrorists belong to different political parties and government is firm to take action against them without taking their party affiliation into consideration. "Government would not allow political parties to collect animal hides during Eidul Azha and donations from general public," Malik said.
He said that Afghan Refugees should leave Pakistan and go back to their country, as they found involved in different crimes including suicide attacks. "Afghan refugees are being suicide bombers and it would be better they leave for their own country," he added.
Responding to a question regarding the detained al Qaeda top leader Yunus Mauritani, Rehman Malik said Mauritani is in custody of Pakistani security agencies and he will be questioned and tried in Pakistan. "Handing over Yunus Mauritani to the US is out of question and he will be tried in Pakistan as per law of land," he added.
About kidnapping of Shahbaz Taseer, Interior Minister said that Federal Government has provided Punjab Government the assistance of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to trace the kidnapped son of slain Punjab Governor Salman Taseer. Malik rejected the notion that he has presented his resignation to President Zardari, saying that if party leadership deem necessary he will resign from ministry.
