At least five persons including a woman were killed in separate spree of target killing at various parts of the metropolis here on Thursday. According to the police, a real estate agent was shot dead in Sultanabad within the limits of Manghopir police station.
The victim Samiullah, 25, son of Abdul Ghaffar, a resident of sector III Sultanabad Manghopir, was assaulted when he was on the way to home from work. Resultantly, he received fatal bullet wound and succumbed to his injures on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities. Police said the Kalashnikov was used in his killing and added that the victim used to run estate agency in the same area where he resided. They said the victim hailed from Waziristan and father of two. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Yet another 25-year-old man was gunned down in Lasi Goth in the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth police station. The victim was identified as Ghulam Rasool, 25, son of Haji Anwar, a resident of Macchar Colony Afghan Camp. Police said the motive behind his murder was yet to be ascertained while he had no political and religious affiliations with any party. The body was taken to ASH for legal formalities and later handed over his heirs.
A bullet-riddled body of a man was found near the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found his body from a ground situated near the mausoleum of the founder of Pakistan. Police said the victim had several torture marks and was killed with sharp edge weapon. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. Police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state. One Tauqeer was shot dead when he offered resistance during robbery bid at Nagan Chowrangi within the precincts of Sir Syed police station. Police said the victim received single bullet on his head and died on the spot. A woman was found dead in mysterious circumstances at her house located at Jamhoria Colony in the jurisdiction of Frere police station. Police said they had found strangulated body of 30-year-old Naheeda wife of Habib from her house. Police shifted her body to JPMC for legal formalities.
