A four-day training of the university's young teachers in modern teaching methodologies, time management, communication skills, stress management, lesson planning, education psychology, assessment and personality development has concluded here at the Government College University Lahore.
GCU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman chaired the closing of the training programme, while Dean Faculty of Science and Technology Professor Dr Ikramul Haq, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr Khalid Pervaiz and Quality Enhancement Cell Director Iram Sohail were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor said that teachers are the real nation builders and it is one of their foremost duties that they should inculcate feelings of patriotism and nationalism in students. "If the teachers are well educated, intellectually alive and take interest in their work, then success of the nation is ensured. But, if they lack of training and do not give their heart to their profession, the system will fail, so there is a big responsibility on the teachers' shoulders" he said.
Later, the Vice Chancellor gave away certificates to the young teachers including Nabila Aslam, Dr Nadeem Ahmad Mirza, Ayesha Atta, Sumbal Maqsood, Samia Hanif, Ammara Khan, Rida Iqtadar, Imran Ali, Um-e-Kalsoom, Rizwana Khaliq, Robina Kokab, Muhammad Umar, Muhammad Javaid Bajwa, Muhammad Atif Shafiq Bhatti and Saima Sarwar.
