Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that a vigorous campaign for creating awareness among the people against dengue virus has been launched. Special teams consisting of male and female students are distributing informative pamphlets for the guidance of the citizens whereas seminars and discussions are also being held at Muhallah level.
He hoped that Inshallah, dengue virus will soon be controlled due to effective strategy, through guidance of the experts and co-operation of the people. He was distributing informative pamphlets carrying preventive measures and saving from dengue virus among the citizens along with male and female students at the launching of awareness campaign at Model Town Mor here on Sunday.
Talking on this occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that all possible medical facilities are being provided to the dengue virus patients in the hospitals whereas all emergency committees in the towns are also fully empowered to carry out spray and taking out measures for eradication of dengue virus. He said that the spray in the houses for eradication of dengue virus is of great importance and a co-ordinated programme has been chalked out for this purpose. He said that a programme has also been evolved for importing medicines from India and Sri Lanka.
Replying to a question of media representative regarding provision of free medical facilities to dengue patients in private hospitals, the Chief Minister said that besides government hospitals, free medical facilities would also be provided to dengue patients in private hospitals. A committee consisting of elected representatives is also devising a strategy by holding talks with the owners of private hospitals in this regard, he added. He said that all segments of the society including NGOs and private hospitals are also being included in the on-going campaign for eradication of dengue virus. He said it is our collective responsibility to come forward in this hour of trial and discharge our responsibility regarding serving to ailing humanity. On this occasion, the Chief Minister along with students distributed informative pamphlets among the citizens and said that these informations should be communicated to others.
