KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday rejected the immediate hearing of bail application of former provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in corruption case, filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
A division bench comprising Justice Mohammed Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Mohammed Saleem Jaiser heard a petition pertaining to bail in a corruption case of over Rs 50 million. Petitioner's counsel Sardar Abdul Latif Khoso informed the court that his client (Sharjeel) is ill and he is not being provided treatment facilities in Central Jail.
Keeping in view these facts, he requested immediate hearing of bail petition.
The bench said that the petition is regarding post-arrest and asked why there is so much haste to this effect. It is pertinent to mention that the bail petition of the former minister had also been rejected by the apex court.
