Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has appealed to the parents to get administered drops of polio vaccine to their children less than the age of five years during three-day anti-polio campaign. He said that the drops of polio vaccine will be administered to one crore sixty lakh children less than the age of five years throughout the province in this campaign.
He said that due to co-ordinated efforts, cases of polio have reduced considerably in Punjab and efforts are being made for complete elimination of this disease from the province. He was talking to the media at the inaugural of anti-polio campaign by administering drops of polio vaccine to the children here on Saturday.
Provincial Ministers, Members National and Provincial Assemblies, representatives of WHO and UNICEF and officials of Health department were also present on this occasion. Talking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that three-day national anti-polio campaign has been started; therefore, all parents must get administered drops of polio vaccine to their children less than the age of five years so that children could be protected from this disease. He said that vigorous campaign is also going on against dengue and the entire nation has been included in it.
