Hundreds of students on Saturday staged a protest against alleged anomalies by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) administration in intermediate results. The angry students ransacked the BISE office and set it on fire, burning the whole record, equipment and furniture.
The protesters also blocked Sialkot and Islamabad roads while traffic was suspended on the Pindi Bypass for hours. The violence started almost at 9am which went out of control of the district administration and police. The police had to use baton charge, tear gas and fire into the air and as a result many students were injured. The police have also arrested several students.
