Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has planned to launch a series of programme entitled 'Kisan Baithak' (Farmers gathering) in Southern Punjab to disseminate information to the growers about latest techniques and methods of increasing crop and livestock productivity.
The KBP in 11 districts of the Southern Punjab will arrange these growers' gatherings. President KBP South Punjab Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Bhutta will be heading these programmes in which agricultural experts will apprise the farmers of new techniques and methods helpful for the growers to increase productivity of their crops and animals.
Secretary Information KBP Haji Muhammad Ramzan told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that second programme of this series would be held in Muzaffargarh on Thursday. The programme will be held in District Council Hall Muzaffargarh where Agricultural Officer Qadirpur would deliver lecture on increasing wheat production while Veterinary Dr Farhat Abbas will speak about increasing productivity of livestock.
First programme in this regard held at Dera Ghazi Khan, in which a large number of growers participated. Growers after the lecture also resolved to launch a forceful movement against hike in the prices of fertilizer, electricity, oil and decreasing prices of agricultural commodities, Haji Ramzan concluded.
