Vice Chancellor University of Sindh, Dr. Nazir A. Mughal has approved to pay monthly salaries to teaching assistants during the summer vacations. The approval was granted, here on Sunday, in a meeting of the committee constituted to recommend a solution towards the demand of SU Teachers Association (SUTA).
The meeting discussed 18 demands of the association and examined it deeply and thoroughly with positive consensus in the light of the university rules and regulations. It also discussed its demands with regard to the residential and pick and drop facility to the faculty members of Badin and Dadu campuses and scholarships to the members of Badin campus.
The VC immediately approved monthly salary to the assistants working in various teaching departments during the summer vacations. The meeting was attended by all members of the committee, namely Dr. Rafia Ahmed Shaikh and Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Pro Vice Chancellors of Badin and Mirpurkhas campuses respectively, Acting Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, deans of the faculties Dr. Parveen Munshi, Advocate Jhamat Jethanad, Syed Abdul Ghaffar Shah, associate professor Institute of Plant Sciences, Muhammad Nawaz Narejo, Controller of Examinations, Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon. It is pertinent to mention that a meeting of the VC and committee members with SUTA representatives is already scheduled for November 17.
