Sindh Minister for Women Development, Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto on Monday said Computerised National Identity Card should be declared a compulsory document for marriage. The minister was addressing the participants of a workshop, organised by Shirkat Gah, as chief guest, a statement said.
She said a 14-year old girl should have the knowledge about her rights guaranteed by Islam. She called upon the departments of social welfare, health, law, education, NGOs and civil society to play their role to create awareness about the fundamental rights. Introducing a subject in the syllabus would improve their understanding in this regard which would help to form an excellent society, she concluded.
