Society of Medical Technologist (SMT), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has demanded of the government for introduction of equal promotion criteria for senior, qualified and experienced Paramedical staff. Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, SMT president, Rawal Bacha Khattak along with general secretary Nazir Ahmad, termed that the 100 percent promotion on seniority basis was tantamount to disastrous for Health Department and employees.
He added that the Para-medical services structure had helped to provide promotion opportunity to qualified staff, but the posts from grade 17 to 20 were still vacant since 2005, whereas posts from grade 12 to 16 were also deliberately lay vacant. More than 3,000 post-graduated staff was looking for promotion due to enforcement of unfair policy and discriminatory promotion criteria, he observed. He maintained the attitude was totally unjustifiable and creating unrest among employees.
He accused that the conspiracy was hatched to make ground for introduction of one-time promotion criteria for all category posts, which would deprive highly qualified staff and also deteriorate health system. He demanded of the government to allocate 50 percent promotion on the basis of seniority while rest of employees should be upgraded as per their experience.
