Sindh Inform-ation Minister Sharjeel Memon, who had gone London in the plane, in which former home minister Dr Zulifqar Mirza was also travelling, has returned to Karachi on Thursday. Sindh Information minister Sharjeel Memon said that his London visit was personal and he had no political aims. This he said while talking to media at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi after returning from London.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the coalition partner of PPP-led government has taken this issue very seriously and registered their protest in this regard. Resulting, the PPP leadership has noticed this issue and discussed within the party circles. President Asif Ali Zardari has called Sharjil Memon at Presidency in this regard.
The provincial minister said that his visit was of private nature which was pre-planned and that he is only answerable to the party leadership. Therefore, he returned as soon as he was called from the Chief Minister House, he added. When asked about MPA Imdad Pitafi, he said that Pitafi went to London with his family and now he is in some other city. The PPP leadership has suspended the party-membership of Imdad Pitafi over the matter of going to London in the same plane in which Dr Zulifqar Mirza was also travelled to London.
