The incumbent president of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) Anwar Mansoor Khan was re-elected in the annual elections of SHCBA held here on Saturday. Mansoor bagged 512 votes to defeat his rivals Amir Raza Naqvi and Yawar Faruqui, who got 352 and 173 votes, respectively. Ashiq Ali Anwar Rana was elected as vice president with 546 votes while his rival Syed Tauqir secured 439 votes.
Shahab Sarki was elected as Secretary with 421 votes. His rivals Z. K. Jatoi and Jabbar Qureshi managed to bag 419 and 134 votes, respectively. Z. K. Jatoi has requested for recounting as he finished very close to the victorious candidate. Majid Noman was elected as treasurer as he got 548 votes against Raja Aftab Ahmed who managed 439 votes.
Ayaz Ahmad Ansari has already been elected unopposed as joint secretary. Irfanfullah Khan, Abdul Latif Shaikh, Azizuddin Qureshi, Arashad Khan Jadoon, Akhlaq Ahmad, M. Aziz Khan, Ikram Siddiqui, Zahida Khatoon Naqvi, Shafi Ahmed were elected as members of the managing committee. Professor Akhtar Mehmud acted as election commissioner to conduct the polls.
