Pakistan received $481 million foreign assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) from July 1 to December 7. According to data available with Business Recorder, USAID was the second major foreign assistance provider by disbursing $58.4 million from July 1 to-date. Germany was the third largest assistance provider to Pakistan and disbursed $10.29 million.
DFID (UK Department for International Development) was the fourth largest assistance provider to Pakistan with $10.24 million disbursed in the current fiscal year. Data reveals that during the first six months of the current fiscal year, AusAID (Australian Agency for International Development) provided $6.98 million, Belgium $3.203 million, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) 0.56million dollars, Canada 0.93 million dollars, China $0.46 million and European Commission's Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) provided $1.69 million to the country.
The European Union (EU) disbursed $8.9 million to Pakistan, AFD (Agence Francaise de Development) $0.47 million, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) provided $0.92 million, International Private Donors $81000, Ireland $3.04 million, Italy $0.356million, Japan $5.009 million, Luxembourg $0.853 million, Netherlands $1.01million, Norway $1.69 million and Saudi Fund for Development provided $1.079 million.
From July 1 to December 7, Spain disbursed $2.81 million to Pakistan, Sweden $3.5 million, Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC) 42 thousand dollars, Switzerland 75 thousand dollars, Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations ( FAO) $0.101 million, IFAD (International Fund for Agriculture Development) $4.40 million, International Labour Organisation (ILO) 0.22million dollars, UNDP $0.78 million, UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program) $0.42 million, UNFPA ( United Nations Fund for Population Activities) $1.49 million, and Unicef $3.58 million.
CERF disbursed (Central Emergency Response Fund) $0.90 million to Pakistan, Emergency Response Fund (ERF) $24 thousands, Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) $0.67 million, UN-EFW (Extended-Funding Window) $0.13 million, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) $4.7 million and International Development Association (IDA) disbursed $1.07 million to Pakistan so far during the current fiscal year 2011-12.
