The state run Small & Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST) have geared up their joint efforts to promote Industry -Academia collaboration to ensure that the unemployed youth of Pakistan get job opportunities and utilise their talent in Socio-Economic Development of Pakistan.
The two organisations have agreed upon a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will likely to be signed in the near future with the purpose to spur Entrepreneurship among the students & attain their energies, abilities & knowledge for promotion of SMEs.
Under the MoU both sides will conduct research in the areas of SMEs development & Entrepreneurship, besides holding joint conferences, symposia, & training programmes as well as circulating essential information so that more and more unemployed youth could be provided the benefit of SMEs & provided opportunities to become Entrepreneurs in their respective areas of interest & expertise. A seminar was held at SZABIST to discuss future aims in the light of this joint understanding & it was agreed that SMEs & Entrepreneurship would be enabled to play more effective role in sustainable growth to the National Economy.-PR
