A local commission constituted by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday informed the court that despite restraining orders of the court revenue department officials had demolished a huge portion of a charitable school of Pakistan Foundation Technical Institute (PFTI). After the commissions report, Commissioner Lahore sought time to file his reply to the report.
The court directed him to submit his report by December 19. Assistant Commissioner Model Town Division Irfan Memon and three Patwaries were also present in the court. The court had appointed a commission to know the factual position of the school, which was demolished by revenue department officers on October 08 last depriving the students mostly belongs to low income families. Commissioner Lahore had denied the demolition and claimed that no violation of court order was committed.
The local commission submitted in his report that it visited the demolished area in the presence of revenue officers and school staff. The commission stated that revenue officers had demolished servant quarters of the school, its hall and boundary wall.
