Appointments of CSP, PCS officers made under IPCC set-up: Punjab Assembly session held
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah told Punjab Assembly on Friday that appointments of CSP and PCS officers in Punjab were made under Inter Provincial Co-ordination Committee (IPCC) set-up on September 1993. Under IPCC set-up, appointments of the federal officers in Punjab are: Grade 17 (25percent), Grade 18 (40 percent), Grade 19 (50 percent), Grade 20 (60 percent) and Grade 21 (65 percent).
Responding to a query he disclosed that there were nine posts of commissioners in Punjab. These posts are occupied by Khusro Pervaiz Khan-Lahore, Khalid Masood Ch-Gujranwala, Ijaz Ali Zaigham-Sargodha, Captain Zahid Saeed (Retd) Faisalabad, Captain Muhammad Ali Gardezi (Retd) Multan, Tariq Mahmood Khan Sahiwal, Hassan Iqbal Dera Ghazi Khan and Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmad Bahawalpur. The minister said that officers in these cadres enjoy federal status.
In the Assembly, members of PML-Q and PPP staged a walk-out in support of Ayesha Malik, daughter of a former provincial legislator who along with a few women managed her entry to the assembly building. She met with opposition leader Raja Riaz Ahmed in his chamber and appealed to him for justice. Raja Riaz, on a point of order told the chair that he was called outside by a lady named Ayesha Aahad Malik and appealed to arrange her meeeting with the law minister. On receiving the news about death of Aamir Hayat Rokhari a PM-N MPA, the Speaker adjourned the House proceedings till Friday at 9am.
