Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that a five-member sub-committee has been constituted for implementation of orders of Lahore High Court regarding complete ban on public meetings and processions on Mall Road. The sub-committee will formulate suggestions for removing hurdles created in the flow of traffic and the problems being faced by traders due to public meetings and processions on Mall Road, he added.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting. The meeting was informed that due to public meetings and processions on Mall Road, the city is divided into two parts as a result of which not only traffic is blocked on the road, but great traffic rush on other big roads also increases. The representative of traders of Mall Road said that due to traffic jam, their business is affected as a result of which not only they have to face loss of millions of rupees, but there is also a threat to shopkeepers with regard to damage to their properties.
The meeting was informed that the big signboards would be displayed on Mall Road to create awareness among the people regarding ban imposed by high court on public meetings and processions there. Moreover, it was suggested in the meeting that punishment should be awarded after registration of cases against those holding public meetings and taking out processions on the road so that people could be made aware of the ban.

Salman Rafiq, Secretary Home, commissioner Lahore division, CCPO Lahore, managing director TEPA, DCO Lahore, DIG operation Lahore, and chairman and general secretary Mall Road Traders' Association were also present on the occasion.
