Islamabad Police have arrested eight outlaws from various parts of the city for alleged involvement in bootlegging and possessing illegal weapons besides recovering 50 wine bottles and pistols from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
On a tip off, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nasir Manzoor from Aabapra police nabbed a bootlegger Niamat Masih from sector G-7/2 and recovered 42 wine bottles from him. He also arrested Adnan Ilyas from sector G-7/2 for having two wine bottles. Likewise, Sub-Inspector Tahir Khan from Aabpara police arrested Javed Maih from G-7 Markaz and recovered three wine bottles from him while ASI Qasim Zia from Industrial Area police arrested Riaz Masih from sector I-8/1 in possessing of three wine bottles.
Similarly, ASI Muhammad Nadeeem arrested Farhan Khan for having one wine bottle. ASI Fiaz Ahmed from Industrial Area police nabbed Gulfaraz Shah for having .30-bore pistol. ASI Nawazish Ali apprehended an accused Tanveer from IJP Road in possession of .30-bore pistol while ASI Zulfiqar Ali from Shehzad town police station arrested Zahid Ahmed for having .30-bore pistol. Cases have been registered against all these arrested persons and further investigation is underway from them.
