Taiwan stocks fell 0.39 percent on Monday with sentiment cautious ahead of the presidential elections this week, while HTC tumbled after the smartphone maker reported a disappointing quarterly result. The main TAIEX index shed 27.47 points to 7,093.04, its second straight losing session.
HTC dropped 5.19 percent, pulling down electronics shares by 0.46 percent. Foreign investors were net sellers on Friday, bringing their total selling to T$551 million this month.
