Cold, dry weather likely to continue

Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are expected to receive rain with snowfall over the hills in the next 24 hours, the met office said on Monday. Cold and dry weather is likely to continue in the country, the office said, adding that the dense foggy conditions were expected in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sukkur division.
"Westerly wave still persist over upper parts of the country," the office said. In line with the forecast made for the next 48 hours, the met office said foggy/misty conditions were likely to remain over some plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sukkur division.
It said isolated rain with snowfall over the hills of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir took place in the 24 hours. Kalam emerged the coldest place of the country with minus 14 degree centigrade, following by Parachinar with minus 13, Rawalakot and Quetta with minus 10 each, and Hunza with minus 9 degree centigrade. Karachi's weather is expected to remain dry with maximum temperature to range between 10 degree centigrade and 12 degree centigrade in the next 24 hours, according to the forecast.
