Pakistan People's Party (PPP) disgruntled member Jamshed Dasti has withdrawn his resignation from the PPP and National Assembly after assurance by President Asif Ali Zardari's sister Faryal Talpur to address his reservations. Jamshed Dasti said this, while talking to Business Recorder after attending the ongoing session of the National Assembly on Thursday.
He said that Faryal Talpur has given assurance in a meeting to remove his reservations regarding Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar. He said that the President and Faryal Talpur accepted that his reservations are genuine. "I will fight against the feudalism and wrong system in the party by living within the party. I am a political worker and talks about it openly in the party's meetings," he said. Answering a question, he said that Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) harmed us by making Sariki province comprising one division.
He said that Saraiki province should be made at larger scale, which should consist of 17 districts. He said that the people of South Punjab are in favour of new province, but they are against small province. Earlier Jamsed Dasti had announced his decision to leave the PPP and vacate his National Assembly seat on Wednesday, claiming that everything in his constituency (Muzzaffargarh) was being done according to the will of Hina Rabbani Khar.
