A private gas solution provider company has installed the first ever synthetic natural gas (SNG) - LPG air mix system to generate 5.2 megawatts of electricity at a local factory to offset gas loadshedding. According to Dynamic Engineering and Automation (DEA) here on Friday, this LPG fuelled system will operate a 5.2 MW Gas Turbine at Soorty Enterprises in Karachi, thus offsetting the shutdowns of piped natural gas.
"This is a big diversification in terms of SNG applications as a supplement to natural gas", said Chief Executive Officer of DEA, Owais Mir. With the current gas scenario, DEA is focusing to address the vision through strategic approach of SNG, which is a blend of LPG - as a base fuel and air, and introduced a permanent solution to cater to natural gas seasonal shutdowns in industries.
