While paying tribute to people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through his canvassing work, artist Jimmy Engineer has expressed his resolve to hold more such exhibitions to develop soft image of the province. Jimmy Engineer was talking to reporters here at Peshawar Press Club on Friday. He donated a landscape painting picture to Peshawar Press Club, in which they depicted different historic places of the country, and northern areas of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The three day exhibition of paintings of artist Jimmy Engineer was organised by the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) in collaboration with Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Directorate of Culture and Higher Education Commission here at Nishtar Hall Peshawar. A large number of people from different walk of life thronged to the exhibition.
The visitors also appreciated the contribution of Jimmy Engineer. They expressed the hope that the exhibition will helpful to portray soft image of Khyber Paktunkhwa. The peace message would yield positive results by holding such exhibitions and cultural activities in the province, they maintained.
Jimmy said that the tourists around the world visited to province as compared to other parts of the country. He said the exhibition's basic aim was to regain cultural activities and tourists attention towards this province. He further said that he highlighted the different aspect of life in his painting and said they have planned to organise such exhibition in capital city Islamabad as well.
He said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had given immense response to his painting and appreciated the artwork. He said this region had rendered enormous sacrifices through which I was impressed to pay tribute to them. He expressed the hope that the exhibition will helpful to develop soft image, revive cultural activities and tourism in the province.
He informed that they had donated 80 oil painting pictures to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and a picture covering different historic places and aspect of life also donated to Peshawar Press Club. Jimmy optimised that he will put its artist work on historic buildings of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to draw its significance through paintings.
