The General Secretary of High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen has said that no power including India can deny the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir. Ghulam Nabi Shaheen in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the United Nations had also accepted that the Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory. Permanent peace in South Asia is not possible without the settlement of the Kashmir dispute, KMS reported him as saying.
Stressing the resolution of the dispute, the Bar General Secretary appealed India to show seriousness and resolve the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris' aspirations, once and for all. The amicable settlement of Kashmir dispute was in the interest of Pakistan and India, he maintained. Ghulam Nabi Shaheen said that the observance of January 26, Indian Republic Day, as black day by the people of occupied Kashmir proved that Kashmiris did not accept the Indian occupation.
