Social Security Doctors' Association Punjab (SSDA) held protest demonstration at all social security hospitals of Punjab in Lahore, Faisalabad, Okara, Multan, Gujranwal, and Rawalpindi for depriving the doctors of Health Professional Allowance (HPA) despite approval of Chief Minister of Punjab.
The protest demonstration was held on Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital, Multan Road, Lahore, and traffic was blocked for more than 2 hours by the hundreds of social security doctors who were shouting slogans against the bureaucracy of social security department for depriving the doctors of.
The protest was led by Dr Safdar Hussain Baloch, Dr Talha Sherwani (Chairman YDAP). The protesters said that the Chief Minister raised the salary of doctors in the form of HPA and raised the salary of HOs and PGRs by Rs 6,000 and Rs 20,000 and MOs and Consultants' Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.
But the social security bureaucracy did not yet implement the decision of CM and forcing the peaceful doctors to protest; the protesters demanded immediate notification of increase in their salaries, otherwise a complete strike will be started at the all social security hospitals of Punjab on 23rd January. Moreover, tomorrow the protest will be done at 11:00am at all social security hospital, Multan road, Lahore, and other cities in Punjab.
