Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is all-set to launch EVO 3G Nitro for ultimate speed and super performance, which is a next step towards the wireless broadband revolution. PTCL Spokesman Shahid Mehmood while talking to Business Recorder said that in less than three years, PTCL acquired about 730,000 broadband service customers in over 1000 cities and towns across the country.
"Whether it is streamlining high definition video or music, conducting a video conference while simultaneously browsing the Internet or uploading multimedia content, in the Nitro Universe everything happens at the speed of light," he elaborated.
He further said that EVO 3G Wireless Broadband was Pakistan's fastest wireless internet which offers its customers superior 3G internet experience. "EVO Wireless Broadband is enabling the wireless broadband revolution in Pakistan with flexibility to roam freely. PTCL EVO has revolutionised the way people connect to the internet by offering true mobility. It gives its customers the advantage of nation-wide roaming with seamless internet connectivity across Pakistan. The coverage of EVO is over 100 cities as EVO customers can enjoy CDMA-1X data rates of up to 153.6 Kbps at more than 1000 destinations across Pakistan," he added.
Shahid further said that PTCL facilitate the customers with its wireless and wire line internet service. Wire line is the Broadband internet connectivity at high speed. This results in very fast download of information from the internet as soon as switch on computer. (At least 10 to 20 times higher than current dial up service).
He said that the EVO USB device was a multipurpose device, which not only delivered fastest wireless internet, but could also be used for voice calls by inserting a Vfone SIM and for data storage by inserting a standard Micro SD Card. PTCL is the first operator in the world to commercially launch EV-DO Rev B products, which offers blazing fast speeds of up to 9.3 MBPS, he added. Shahid said that PTCL was holding 95 percent broadband market share and had made the broadband technology affordable by lowering the barriers to entry by geographically bringing the service within the reach of a common user across the country and by continuous improvements in customer care.
He said that before PTCL started providing Broadband service, this service was only restricted to few major cities of the country. "It has made the broadband technology affordable by offering low-cost packages and by geographically taking the service to the remote and un-served areas bringing it within the access of users from all socio-economic classes," the spokesperson added.
