The Karachi Port handled 234,724 tonnes of cargo comprising 134,294 tonnes of import cargo and 100,430 tonnes of export cargo including 6,068 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 134,294 tonnes comprised of 62,689 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12 tonnes of general cargo; 26,043 tonnes of bulk cargo: 19,629 tonnes of coal; 6,414 tonnes of DAP and 45,550 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 100,430 tonnes comprised of 68,704 tonnes of containerised cargo; 110 tonnes of general cargo; 15,186 tonnes of bulk cargo: 984 tonnes of cement; 11,970 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 1,912 tonnes of talcum powder and 16,750 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eleven ships namely Positano, Viona, APL Sharjah, Kota Arif, Al-Manakh, YM Fuzhou, Southern Jaugar, Lodestar Genesis, Valpolicella, Jin Rong and UBC Cyprus with six container ships, two oil tankers, one general cargo ship, one coal carrier, and one cement carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Nine vessels viz Viona, Al-Manakh, YM Asia, Lindavia, Hyundai Bangkok, Hansa Constitution, Southern Jaugar, Gennaro Ievoli and MT Quetta carrying six container ship and three oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Gennaro Ievoli, MT Quetta and Lindavia with two oil tankers and one container ship respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while three ships namely Hyundai Bangkok, Hansa Constitution and YM Asia with three container ships respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four vessels viz Lt Trieste, Hanjin Durban, Maetiga and Sioux Maiden carrying two container ships, one mogas carrier and one steel ship respectively due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz APL Cyprine and Tabernacle Prince carrying one container ship and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 88,383 tonnes, comprising 54,370 tonnes of import cargo and 34,013 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,083 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 54,370 tonnes includes 27,626 tonnes of furnace oil; 14,480 tonnes of canola seeds and 12,264 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 34,013 tonnes includes 2,534 tonnes of rice and 31,479 tonnes of containerised cargo. Four ships namely MSC Clara, Maersk Georgia, Akaki and ACX Lily sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of seven vessels CV Maersk Georgia, ACX Lily, MSC Clara, MV Leopard-B, MV LA Paloma, MV Ataman and Akaki are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, canola seedsand furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely CV Henry, Fair Spirit, Al-Soor-II and Rio Gracia with one container ship, one furnace oil tanker, one diesel oil tanker and one LPG mix ship are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz Al-Soor-II and Rio Gracia carrying diesel oil and LPG mix are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and SSGC Terminal respectively on Monday.
