The Lahore High Court on Wednesday issuing show cause notice summoned Secretary Health Punjab, DCOs Chiniot and Jhang to appear before the court on February 8, on a contempt petition against not paying salaries to a security guard for the last 19 years despite court orders.
The court took strong notice of the non implementation of its order and remarked that the instant case was a fit case for National Accountability Bureau. Petitioner Munir Ahmad, a guard in rural health center, pleaded that he was appointed on April 10, 1993 but salary was not being paid to him. He said he made several representations to district health officer but nothing worked. On his writ petition, a LHC bench had directed the respondent authorities to release the pending salary. The petitioner prayed the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the delinquent officials.
