United Bank Limited (UBL) won the 10th State Bank Governor's InterBank Cricket Tournament by defeating Habib Bank Limited (HBL) at SBP Sports Complex, North Nazimabad, Karachi on Saturday. Bating first, UBL scored 154 for 5. Hasan Mehmood (44), Tariq Iqbal (43) were the main scorers.
Abdul Haseeb and Noman-ur-Rehman of HBL took 2 wickets each. In reply, HBL could score only 136 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. Basharat Hussain (53), Noman-ur-Rahman (33) of HBL were the main scorers. Tajuddin of UBL took 2 for 24. SBP Governor's XI beat Karachi Bankers Club (KBC) XI by 8 wickets in a 12-over festival cricket match played at the same ground on Saturday.
State Bank Governor, Yaseen Anwar, who captained his side, was declared Man of the Match for his excellent performance in this festival match. Later, Yaseen Anwar, who was also the chief guest on this occasion, gave away the prizes. The prize distribution ceremony was attended, among others, by legend cricketers, Javed Miandad, Iqbal Qasim and Abdul Raqueeb, beside a large number of senior bankers and sport lovers.-PR
