Met Office has predicted another spell of rain/snowfall in different parts of the country from Friday, which is expected to last till Monday. It says a fresh westerly wave, presently causing rains over western Iran, is heading towards Pakistan that would grip western parts of the country on Friday. Under the wave influence, scattered rains with snowfall over the hills of Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected from Friday to Monday.
Widespread rain/snow is also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Friday to Monday. This expected weather system is likely to produce heavy snowfall over the hills of Galliyat and Murree during the coming weekend, it says. A cold wave is likely to grip most parts of the country during the weekend, and very cold weather is likely to prevail in the country during the next week, it forecasts. The rainy areas of the country are likely to receive good rainfall during the period that would be very useful for the standing crops.
