Army chief witnesses training exercise in Bahawalpur

Chief of Army Staff General, Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Bahawalpur Cantt and Khairpur Tamianwali, on Tuesday to witness formation level training exercises. The exercises included training for conventional operations in the desert terrain, involving mechanised forces and Pakistan Air Force, said an ISPR press release issued here. Training for conduct of operations against militancy was also part of these exercises.
The CoAS appreciated the high standard of training displayed by participating troops. He underscored the significance of operational preparedness against the entire threat spectrum. Earlier, on arrival, the CoAS was received by Lieutenant General, Muhammad Haroon Aslam, Commander Bahawalpur Corps.
