The profit after tax of Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has increased to Rs 2.217 billion in half year period ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 1.743 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The company's earning per share increased to Rs 32.08 in the period under review against Rs 25.22 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday at Dubai, UAE recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year period ended December 31, 2011 at Rs 17.50 per share ie 175 percent.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs 86.069 billion in the half period in 2011 against Rs 46.751 billion in the same period in 2010. The company paid Rs 11.548 billion as sales tax in the second half of 2011 against Rs 6.424 billion paid in the same account in the corresponding period in 2010. The company's cost of products sold increased to Rs 72.028 billion against Rs 38.617 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 3.085 billion in the half year ended December 31, 2011 against Rs 2.390 billion in the same period in 2010.
On quarterly basis, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 1,119.816 million translating earning per share of Rs 16.2 in the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to profit after tax of Rs 868.197 million with per share earning of Rs 12.56 in the same quarter in 2010.
