Kidnappers killed 12-year-old son of assassinated DSP Nawaz Ranjha, four days after he was kidnapped from his home in Karachi. Police on Sunday arrested four abductors who confessed having killed the boy Zaheen after kidnapping him from Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block -8 on February 8. The abductors had demanded Rs 5 million for his release.
Zaheen was the son of DSP Nawaz Ranjha who, along with his driver, was gunned down on August 16 last year on M A Jinnah Road. Officials said the kidnapers-identified as Ali Raza, Zohair, and Jaraf-during the interrogation confessed killing Zaheen, after they were arrested in a raid jointly conducted by Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC). Officials said the body, packed in a gunny bag, was recovered from a plot in Malir Architect Society on Sunday on the indication of captured criminals.
