US Charge d' Affairs, Ambassador Richard Hoagland has pledged United States support for the development of Pakistan's agricultural sector, which will improve productivity and food security and increase farmers' income. He expressed these views while inaugurating the US pavilion at 'Agri Expo and Conference 2012', held at Lahore Expo Centre, here on Friday.
He was accompanied by US Consul General, Nina Maria Fite. During the visit, they availed the opportunity to meet local companies implementing US agricultural development projects, and talk to Pakistani and international exhibitors showcasing new farming technologies, equipment and practices.
Speaking on this occasion, Ambassador Hoagland said, "This event will provide farmers, dairy and livestock producers, food processors, agricultural university students, agricultural business people and consumers an opportunity to talk, exchange ideas and learn more about new farming methods. He praised US-Pakistan agricultural co-operation. The two-day national agricultural exposition provided exhibitors the opportunity to showcase agricultural technology to Pakistani farmers and agri-business people that can increase crop yields and reduce costs.
