Khawaja Muhammad Hussain, Senior Vice-President of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) said in a meeting with Managing Director of Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) Saad S. Khan that there is a wide scope of promotion of tourism in this historical city of Asia because Multan is the ancient city of the world.
He said that Travel and Tourism are the largest foreign exchange earners, and we should highlight the significance of Punjab, particularly Multan, Uch Sharif, Cholistan, Nankana Sahib, Fort Munro, Darawar Fort to attract the tourists. He said that Tourism is providing employment directly and indirectly to millions of people world-wide through many service areas. Some of these service areas are the government tourism departments, the immigration and the customs services, the travel agencies, the airlines, the tour operators, and the hotels. He said that Temple of Parhalad in Multan is very important for the Hindus, while Multan is known for the arrival of gods. Shrines of spiritual saints can attract the Muslims across the world.
It requires assessing the needs of tourists and businessmen and helping them make the best possible travel arrangements from the many travel options available. Saad S. Khan, Managing Director of TDCP said that Tourism and Commerce are part and parcel of each other. He said that proposals of Multan Chamber would be considered to promote tourism. He said that there are obstacles of Visa in promotion of tourism between India and Pakistan. Khurram Javed, Misba Ishaque, Asha'ar Iqbal and Naeem Akbar were also present there.
