Difa-e-Pakistan-Council (DPC) has demanded the immediate resignation of Defence Minister for resumption of supplies to Nato forces in Afghanistan what it said without the consent of the Parliament.
Talking to media persons here Sunday after meeting, Chairman DPC, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq condemned imposing ban on DPC leaders on their entry in Islamabad. He added imposition of ban on DPC leaders by the Interior Minister is unconstitutional and illegal. He said that former President Musharraf had banned various organisations, which was unjustified, adding the courts have declared this move as illegal. He said that DPC would organise All Parties Conference on February 27 in Quetta while Mian Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and other parties are being invited to participate in the conference. He said a committee has been constituted in this regard, which will consist on Liaquat Baloch of JI, Ameer Hamza of JD, Yousuf Shah JUI and Dr Badar of Ansaar-ul-Ummah. Giving details of the APC in Quetta, he said the committee members would leave for Balochistan on Tuesday where they would meet leaders of different religious and political parties. He alleged that government was not paying heed on Balochistan issue, saying the provincial government was also silent on the same issue.
He warned the government to avoid creating hurdles in the way of Difa-e-Pakisan Council and made it clear that all parties would participate in the DPC sit-in, which would be held at Aabpara Chowk. He termed moving of resolution in US Congress on Balochistan as an attack on the sovereignty and security of Pakistan. "If the US have love for humanity than it should raise voice for granting right of self-determination to Kashmiris", he added.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed of Jamat-ud-Dawa said the banned leaders of DPC would move to courts against banning their entry in Islamabad. He said DPC would render each and every sacrifice for the sake of Pakistan.
Earlier, the meeting was attended by Hafiz Muhammad Saeed of JD, Ahmed Ludhyanwani of Jamat Ahle-Sunnat, Liaquat Baloch, Hameed Gull, Ejaz-ul-Haq, Maulana Abdul Jabbar, Hafiz Tahir Mehmood, Abdul Rehman Makki, Maulana Asharaf Ali and others.
