US intervention in Balochistan: Sindh governor, chief minister appreciate Prime Minister's stance

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said the 20th Constitutional Amendment would strengthen the Election Commission of Pakistan and ensure fair, free and impartial elections in the country to the extent that no one would question the credibility of electoral process.
The Prime Minister was talking to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who called on him here at the Governor House.
The Governor and the Chief Minister appreciated the stance taken by Prime Minister Gilani to reject the US intervention in Balochistan. Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan also commended the enactment of 20th Amendment, saying that the consultative process had become an essential component of the democratic politics which would strengthen democracy in the country.
The Prime Minister said with the consensus amendments this government had restored the Constitution of 1973 in its original form and added that the future generations would further make it relevant according to the aspirations of the people of country. He said that continuity of the political process is absolutely important for the political stability without which the dream of peace, prosperity and the progress of country could not be realised.
