Watch: Ali Zafar recreates magic in PSL 3 anthem
Ali Zafar has just released another anthem for the upcoming third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL 3). Since last three years, Zafar has been the voice and soul of PSL.
This year’s anthem ‘Dil Se Jaan Laga De’ delves into the nostalgia behind the country’s favourite pastime and reminisces in its cricket glory. It also features Pakistani cricket stars including Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad, Misbah-ul-Haq, Rameez Raja, Junaid Khan and more.
Last year's PSL anthem was a hit and became one of Pakistan's most heard songs of 2017.
“I cannot explain how humbling it was to hear it play from every car, home and in every street when the final came home to Pakistan. In fact, when I was writing it, I wrote the entire chorus based on the vision, hope and dream of cricket returning to Pakistan and we are very fortunate that it did! This year’s anthem takes that thought further and it is based on a celebration; that last year’s dream was fulfilled, that the PSL embraces the very essence of cricket and pride; that Pakistan and Pakistanis will take the Super League to the next level again this year,” Zafar said in an interview.
The third PSL tournament is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates starting February 22. The much-awaited final will take place in Karachi, while the semi-finals will be played in Lahore.
