Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti approved alteration of Government Girls High School Gulbahar and Government Girls High Secondary School Shahab-ud-din as Centennial Model Schools.
The decision has been taken on pressing demand of the people of the area, who were demanding to alter the schools as English medium as the Provincial Assembly constituency was lacking English medium school In order to fulfil the need, the Chief Minister issued directives for conversion of the aforementioned schools as English medium schools. The decision will benefit girl students of the area in promotion of modern education facilities to them.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has also approved an amount of Rs 3.00 million as one-time grant for Peshawar Public School and College, Girls wing. It merits a mention here that girls section of the institute was facing financial crisis due to its dissociation from Peshawar Public School. The CM approved the grant in order to generalise women education.
