Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of death of a pregnant woman Shazia Maqbool and new born baby during delivery at Gillani Maternity Home by a so-called lady doctor in Okara and ordered strict action against concerned maternity home.
According to an official here on Saturday, on the CM's instruction Chief Minister's Inspection Team probed the matter by visiting the site and has registered a case against the persons involved in this tragic incident in the concerned police station and sealed the clinic.
Khawaja Salman Rafique, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Health, said strict action will be taken against the persons responsible of the death of mother and the child. He also said instructions have been issued to the health department to further accelerate the ongoing campaign against quacks, illegal maternity homes and clinics. He disclosed that an operation is being launched soon against the elements playing with human lives and running illegal maternity homes.
