LUAWMS, UAF ink MoU for collaborating in agriculture research

Lasbela University of Agriculture Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) Balochistan and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) on Saturday inked a Memorandum of Understanding for collaborating in academia and research activities in a bid to flourish the agricultural sector of the country.
The MoU was duly signed by UAF Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and Lasbela University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Hammed Bajoi at VC Chamber. Professor Dr Abdul Hameed was flanked by Registrar Dr Sheer Ahmad while Faculty of Veterinary Science Dean Professor Dr Laeeq Akbar Lodhi. Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dean Dr Muhammad Sarwar, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology Dean Professor Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad, Chairman Department of Animal Breeding and Genetic Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Livestock Chairman Professor Dr Muhammad Younas, Director External Linkages Ashfaq Chatta and other high ranked officials were also present. The delegation visited the all labs, farms and witnessed the pace of work being carried out under various projects.
According to MoU, the UAF will provide consultancy in the setting up lab and facilities to LUAWMS while the mutual sharing of the scientific research will be held. The both parties will hold the collaborations in the workshops, seminars and research and will make joint efforts to boost up the agricultural productivity of the country.
Talking about the situation of agriculture, Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan stressed the need to adopt latest methods of the agricultural practices in a bid to face the challenge of food insecurity confronting the country. He also called for raising the awareness among the masses to conserve the water as the country was also becoming water scare country.
Professor Dr Abdul Hammed Bajoi said that the agricultural was the backbone of our country and with the adopting of the modern method we can fight food insecurity challenges. He praised the UAF for making a valuable contribution to the field of agriculture in the form of researches and producing the manpower.
