University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha has said that the new system of internship programme will bring a healthy change between academia and industry's interaction. He was addressing inaugural session of DVM internship programme 2012 arranged by varsity's Faculty of Veterinary Sciences on Monday at seminar hall.
Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha further said that university students can play their due role for the strengthening of livestock and poultry sector. He also said that on-farm trainings would broaden the experience of the internees and will be helpful in enhancing their professional capabilities.
He urged the students to improve the farm system through their professional skills and earn good name for the university. It is pertinent to mention here that at least 132 student of final year DVM students will participate in the internship programme to improve their skill and working experience.
As many as 50 national as well as international companies offered internship programme including Bolan Poultry (Afghanistan), Falcon (Abu Dhabi). The internship is consisted of four training modules especially, animal husbandry, improvement & management, pre-services field, training in the area of veterinary medicine.
Earlier, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad gave briefing about the procedure of the internship for the DVM final semester students. He said the objective of the internship programme is to provide the pre-service field training to students in the area of veterinary medicine, animal husbandry and allied fields.
