The Karachi Port handled 89,461 tonnes of cargo comprising1 52,563 tonnes of import cargo and 36,898 tonnes of export cargo including 2,757 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 52,563 tonnes comprised of 14,656 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,620 tonnes of general cargo; 1,289 tonnes of bulk cargo and 34,998 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,898 tonnes comprised of 29,422 tonnes of containerised cargo; 136 tonnes of general cargo and 7,340 tonnes of bulk cargo. Three container ships namely Felicitas Rickmers, Lindavia and Hyundai Bangkok sailed out to sea during the reported period. A container vessel viz Taban-1 is currently at the berths. Two ships namely Thalassa and Viona carrying one general cargo ship and one container ship respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while two ships namely Cathrina and Seagull-D with one cement carrier and one wheat carrier respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Two vessels viz Tabea and Chemroad Mega with one container ship and one ethanol carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while four vessels viz Stolt Spray, Berthea, Morning Glory-VII and Fortune East with one cnemicals carrier, one base oil tanker, one naphtha carrier and one canola seeds carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 55,125 tonnes, comprising 40,530 tonnes of import cargo and 14,595 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,057 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 40,530 tonnes includes 11,769 tonnes of diesel oil; 7,600 tonnes of palm oil; 7,343 tonnes of canola seeds and 13,818 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 14,595 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Maersk Kingston sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely MT Harbour Clear with palm oil is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of four ships namely CV Maersk Kingston, MV Maganari, MT Harbour Clear and MT Al-salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, canola seeds, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely Al-Abdali, Sflavon, San Francisco, Eair Spirit, Strilen and Ikan Byan with containers, fuel oil, edible oil and canola seeds respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of three container vessels viz CV Al-Abdali, CV Sflavon and CV San Francisco are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday.
