Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan and Oman has deep friendly ties and these relations will be further strengthened with the passage of time. He said that there are vast prospects of investment in industry, livestock, energy, agriculture, information technology and other sectors in Punjab and investors of Oman should extend further economic co-operation.
He was talking to the Ambassador of Oman in Pakistan, Mohammed Bin Said Bin Mohammed Al-Lawati here on Saturday. Commercial Attache of Oman Abdul Ghani and Vice Chairman Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, Dr Miftah Ismail were also present on this occasion.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that a large number of expatriate Pakistanis in Oman are playing their important role in the development of Sultanate of Oman. He said that friendly relations between Pakistan and Oman have been further promoted in recent years.
He said that a joint business council of Chambers of Commerce of Pakistan and Oman has also been setup to further enhance trade and economic relations between both the countries. The Chief Minister said that there is a very conducive environment for foreign investment in Punjab province and the investment made here is completely safe and profitable.
He said that Punjab government has provided all facilities under one roof through Punjab Board of Investment and Trade for facilitating foreign investors. He said that increase in economic activities and investment in various sectors is being especially encouraged.
He asked investors and business institutions of Oman to take benefit from the conducive atmosphere available in Punjab province. Similarly, there are vast prospects of investment in agriculture and livestock sectors, he added.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Muslim countries have taken active part in rehabilitation of affected families during flood. He said that the co-operation extended by Oman and other Islamic countries in setting up model villages and assistance of flood affectees is commendable.
Ambassador of Oman in Pakistan Mohammed Bin Said Bin Mohammed Al-Lawati expressing his views on this occasion said that Sultanate of Oman is willing to play its due role for the rehabilitation of flood affectees in Punjab province.
He expressed the hope that economic relations between Oman and Punjab province will be further strengthened in the coming days. Vice Chairman Punjab Board of Investment and Trade, Dr Miftah Ismail informed the meeting with regard to prospects of investment in the province.
