The Karachi Port handled 204,320 tonnes of cargo comprising1 107,382 tonnes of import cargo and 96,938 tonnes of export cargo including 6,003 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 107,382 tonnes comprised of 72,688 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,625 tonnes of general cargo; 22,069 tonnes of bulk cargo: 13,000 tonnes of coal; 8,301 tonnes of canola seeds; 768 tonnes of urea and 4,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 96,938 tonnes comprised of 51,850 tonnes of containerised cargo; 15,716 tonnes of bulk cargo: and 1,827 tonnes of cement; 2,257 tonnes of wheat; 11,632 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 29,372 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely APL Sokhna, YM North, Kota Akbar, Oriental Frocsia, Morning Glory VII, Golden Dominance, JOP and Abdul Latif-S with three container ships, three oil tankers, one general cargo ship and one cement carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Twelve vessels viz Hyundai General, UASC Shuwaikh, MOL Wind, Lara Rickmers, OEL Trust, Oriental Freesia, Golden Dominance, Lodestar Genesis, Winterset, Armata, Yellow Fin and Pacific Embolden with five container ships, three oil tankers, one cement carrier, one coal carrier, one general cargo ship and one fertiliser carrier are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Hyundai General, MOL Wind and Yellow Fin carrying two container ships and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Lodestar Genesis and Winterset with one oil tanker and one cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz Wan Hai-605, STX Patraikos and Ocean Pegasus with two container ships and one LSF oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz Felicitas Rickmers, Bow Victor, Alam Bakti, Spar Orion and Sunset with one container ship, one ethanol ship, one mogas ship, one coal carrier and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 14,931 tonnes, comprising 7,665 tonnes of import cargo and 7,266 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 711 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo includes 7,665 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 7,266 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Maersk Georgia sailed out to sea on Monday morning. A total number of three ships namely CV Maersk Georgia, MT Strilen and MV Hiba Al-Nour-B are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, edible oil and cement respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely Safmarine Ngami, Mercy Wisdom, Liberty Eagle, Seagull-D, Al-Soor-II, Wilma and Ikan Bayan with containers, wheat, cement, diesel oil, general cargo and canola seeds respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Safmarine Ngami, Mercy Wisdom, Liberty Eagle, Seagull-D and Wilma carrying containers, wheat, cement and general cargo respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-3) & (MW-2) respectively on Monday.
