.Ali Hamdani Managing Director and CEO Siemens Pakistan pointed out that Pakistan offers diverse experiences and opportunities for engineers as the country has a range of industrial activity from oil and gas to textiles, sugar, infrastructure etc, which not many countries can offer.
He said Pakistani human resources are held in high regard in foreign countries and are making positive contribution around the world. He was speaking as the chief guest at the concluding session of 27th Multi Topic Symposium organised by the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEEP) Karachi chapter. Hamdani said that we are in an area where countries like China, India and Bangladesh are on the move and we can join the club if we improve ourselves and set some things right.
He recounted that when he graduated many of his fellow students became entrepreneurs and today they are successful businessmen. Now, everyone is looking for a job he said and my advice to young engineers is to start their own business. He said there is an abundance of talent in the country that needs to be mobilised.
Hamdani said in his opinion communication is vital to success. We should improve our communication and I, believe that the difference between countries is the difference in their communication skills. Earlier, Tahir Basharat Cheema, President, IEEEP, in his welcome address praised Siemens for their continuous support to IEEEP. He gave details of IEEEP activities and said the Karachi chapter was the most dynamic and held the most activities of the organisation. He said no organisation can move forward without linkages.-PR
