Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday blamed the federal government for the recent violent protests in Punjab against the power outages. PML-N central media office while quoting party's central secretary information Senator Mushahidullah Khan saying that the federal government ministers and advisors while involving Punjab government as being behind the violent protests in some cities of the province was an attempt to befool the masses.
"PML-N government is not behind the violent protests in the province rather those elements are behind damages to public properties that want to blackmail Punjab government", said the PML-N leader, adding that the party has always preferred the parliament to register protest over the government inability to resolve the masses' problems.
He regretted that the government instead of resolving the problems of the masses has always opted to enter in blame-game. He further said that in such situation, the PML-N would not leave the masses on the government mercy and for the purpose it has announced countrywide protests against the power outages. The party has announced protest rallies in four provincial capital including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar on March 31.
On April 02, similar rallies would be held in Abbottabad, Sialkot, Hyderabad and Sahiwal. While on April 03 protest rallies would be held in Multan, Qasoor, Shekhopura and D.G.Khan and on April 04 Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Karrak and Sargodha. While in Gujrat, Okara and D.G. Khan similar protest would be held on April 05 against the load shedding and over-billing. The PML-N leader also feared that the government would drop another bomb in the shape of increase in power tariff, which he said, was unjustifiable.
