Terming over 14-hour power load shedding in urban and 20-hour in rural areas of Punjab, as a conspiracy to cripple the economy of Punjab, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has announced to utilise all options including a long march along with the industrialists, traders and industrial workers to stop this discrimination. The PML-N senior leader Mohammad Pervez Malik said on Wednesday that people are facing terrible situation while a large number of workers rendered jobless.
"The government should stop discrimination in electricity supply to the Punjab and end massive load shedding, immediately, otherwise PML-N will utilise all options, as industrialists, traders and industrial workers are struggling for their survival," he said.
Malik said that acute electricity crisis has ravaged the industry in Punjab while political interest-led politics of PPP regime and menace of corruption was adding salt to the miseries the people. According to him, the Punjab is being treated unfairly with regard to supply of electricity, which is badly affecting the Punjab industry and the common man.
He said that prolonged load shedding has pushed thousands of large and medium scale manufacturing units towards the closure left millions industrial workers and daily wagers unemployed while the remaining industry was on the verge of closure while government was busy to promote the corruption.
He said that load shedding in Punjab is a well planned conspiracy. The industrial activities were already frozen because of mismanagement, corruption and unfriendly course of action of the present regime while the worst electricity shortage throwing more fuel to the fire.
He said that Punjab is major province as far as revenue collection is concerned while line losses there are at the lowest but corrupt leadership was taking revenge from the Punjab people. Malik said that government policies, inability of PPP leadership and corruption of Rs 1200 billion has forced the people to take to the street but instead of feeling some shame, ministers and advisors were busy in blame game and trying to misguide the people.
He said that PML-N believes in democracy but the PPP had made democracy revenge and mocking the people by horrible load shedding, corruption and making repeated increase in the electricity, petrol, gas and commodity prices. He said the PML-N would not allow the government to play freely with the interests of nation. PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif will recover every single penny of the looted money after having reins of the country in his hands while new power projects will be completed to end the load shedding for ever.
